Formula BMW UK Front runner Chris Holmes is to join a whole host of celebrities from the world of motorsport at Birmingham's NEC next Friday, 12th January, as part of a special charity karting event at the 2007 Autosport International Show.

The motor racing extravaganza, which attracts hundreds of thousands of visitors from across the globe every January, will stage the second annual televised Celebrity Kart Challenge on the Friday of the four-day event with 19-year-old Chris competing as part of a team of Young Rising Stars , running under the banner 'Young Guns'.

The other drivers set to join Chris are, Jonathan Cocker 19-year old British GT Champion, and British Formula Renault Driver Ducan Tappy, a lucky member of the public will driver alongside the quartet for the 60-minute endurance race.

The 'Young Guns' will be raising money for Whizz-Kidz, the national charity which provides sophisticated, customised mobility equipment for disabled youngsters to help make a truly life-changing difference.Led by ex-Formula One star David Brabham and his Racing4Charity.com organisation, the Celebrity Kart Challenge has become firmly established as a key part of Autosport International and after the success of the 2006 event, hopes are high for next week's race which is set to be televised at a later date on digital satellite channel Motors TV.

Speaking ahead of the charity kart race, Leeds-based Chris commented: "It should all be fun and I'm sure with quick team-mates like Jonny and Duncan we will not only have a great time but be very competitive'
