Chris Holmes Races To Another Formula 4 Victory | 22.06.09 | 19.48
Chris Holmes (Ilkley, Yorkshire) was on the top step of the podium once more at the latest round of the Formula 4 Championship held at Brands Hatch this weekend. Setting another lap record on his way to his second victory of the year, Chris overcame a mechanical problem to put in the drive of the day, and winning may plaudits on the way.

Having qualified on pole position, the young racing driver looked set to continue his dominant winning ways when mechanical disaster struck with a clutch problem which dropped him down the field in race one. With the race red flagged, which gave the clutch time to cool, the race restarted with Chris in 15th yet he battled up to 2nd before an electrical problem proved terminal and he was forced to retire.

From the outside it looked as if his weekend was over as even with intense and speedy work on the car it meant he would start the second race from 18th on the grid. The Brands Hatch Indy circuit is tight and to make up places would be a lot to ask. Even the chance of a podium appeared an outside chance to the most knowledgeable of those watching. However, in a display that can be described as nothing less than stunning, Chris went for broke knowing he had to pass a car every lap at minimum and that is just what he did! With amazing pace and brave moves, Chris literally stormed through the field to take the win and set a new lap record on the way!

"The weekend started great with pole position but then to have that bad luck in race one was a nightmare" said Chris afterwards. "I went into race two fully focused on what I had to achieve from 18th place and thankfully everything I did worked. To win race two was fantastic and the lap record makes it two out of two for the circuits I've raced on this year."

Chris is supported by Nuffield Health and Fitness, Hanline Associates, Skins Products and Physiocure who he thanks for their continued support. Anyone who is interested in backing Chris to ensure his continued success this season is warmly invited to contact him at p1chris@hotmail.co.uk. Chris returns to motorsport action in the next round of the Formula 4 Championship to be held at Brands Hatch on 21 June.
